Flute and piano player, composer and arranger Orlando Maraca Valle wrote his first composition at the age of ten, a danzon for flute and piano, which immediately made him a child prodigy. Following his prestigious classical studies at the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory and the Higher Academy of Arts of Havana he began his career at the age of 16 as a flutist in the group of Cuban pianist Emiliano Salvador then as flutist and keyboard player and arranger for the Chucho Valdès IRAKERE group, with whom he stayed six years. He composed and produced for albums for Tata Guinès, before creating “Maraca & Otra Vision" in 1996. Over the years he has written and played for well-known artists such as Cesaria Evora, Afro-Cuban Jazz Project, Orlando Poleo, Yumuri y Sus Hermanos, Leyanis López, thus performing on famous stages all over the world.
