Cubanito 20.02, the guerrillas of Cuban ragga!
They are only three but make enough noise for an army, and have sufficient energy to turn heads upside down and shake all the bodies in the public. What’s more, between Havana and Santiago, they are all you will hear. It is impossible to avoid them. There is not a child, young or old, who does not proclaim their war cry, their party cry: « Uh Laca Laca Lah ! ». A mysterious rallying call that pops up between the phrases of their hit « Matame » which crowned all titles as soon as it played on the national radio waves.
According to their identifications, their names are Haniel Gonzalez Martinez, Javier Duran Webb, José Angel Sastre Perez. They prefer to be known by their nicknames: Flipper, White and El Doctor, and are respectively 28, 32 and 30 years old. Flipper joined White and El Doctor in the Primera Base group, which met with roaring success in the first rap festival in Havana in 1995 and recorded a CD two years later, then rewarded at the Cubadisco (Professional Fair of Cuban music). In February 2002, another adventure picked up. Flipper, White and El Doctor turned the page of Primera Base. Cubanito 20.02 was born.
